HOW DECISIONS ARE MADE
Complete

Lodge the strongest application you can

Home Affairs decides on the information in front of it and may not ask for missing documents before making a decision, although it can request further information. Orbitrio helps you prepare a more complete application before you lodge.

Know what your application needs before you lodge.

Australian visa requirements differ by subclass, occupation, state and personal circumstances, and the Department decides on the evidence in front of it. Orbitrio looks at your situation first, shows you which pathways are worth exploring, and tells you what each one still needs before you lodge anything.

Orbitrio

Apply through the ACRO Criminal Records Office, which issues UK police certificates for visa applications.

  2. Open ACRO's Police Certificate service and follow its full document checklist.

I'm in Bengaluru. My agent says my payslips aren't enough for my Australian Computer Society skills assessment. What else should I provide?

Orbitrio

For each job being assessed, the Australian Computer Society (ACS) asks for at least two types of payment evidence covering the beginning and end of your employment, or a recent period if you still work there. At least one type must come from outside your employer.

Since you already have payslips:

  1. Download bank statements showing your name and salary deposits identifying your employer.
  2. Check that the payment dates match the employment period you are claiming.
  3. Upload the statements alongside your payslips for review.

If you contributed to India's Employees' Provident Fund, statements showing your name and employer may also be relevant. You can access these through the official member passbook service.

Next step: Add the missing payment evidence.

I'm applying for an Australian visitor visa from Shanghai. My marriage certificate is in Chinese. How do I prepare it?

Orbitrio

Prepare an English translation and keep it together with a clear copy of the original certificate.

You can arrange the translation in China. Ask the translator to include their full name, address, phone number, and relevant language qualifications and experience, written in English.

If you choose a translator based in Australia, use a NAATI-certified translator. In NAATI's directory, select Translator, choose Chinese to English, then contact a provider to confirm the price and turnaround time.

Upload the original certificate and the completed translation here so they can be reviewed together.

Next step: Arrange the English translation.

I'm in Auckland. My agent has asked for evidence of my New Zealand qualifications. Where can I get it?

Orbitrio

Start with your New Zealand Record of Achievement, which lists qualifications and standards reported to the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA).

  1. Sign in to the MyNZQA learner portal.
  2. Download a free electronic copy of your Record of Achievement.
  3. Check that the relevant qualification appears, then upload it under your education documents.

If your checklist also asks for a detailed academic transcript or course information, request those directly from your school or education provider. Your Record of Achievement may not contain that level of detail.

Next step: Download your record and check it against the requested documents.
